whatgrandmawore was founded in 2016. It is a blog written by a BA Hons Fashion and Dress History (2018) and MA Design and Material Culture (2019) graduate from the University of Brighton. I have written articles for The Costume Society as a Costume Society Ambassador (2016-17), and for journal Pièce Détachée (2019).
My research fields include the relationships between fashion and death, ghosts and the uncanny in relation to material culture and fashion within museums. I am also interested in fashion theory, Marlene Dietrich’s clothing, and British couture from 1920 to 1950, amongst other topics!
